Corvallis antifa 2022 field guide About us: CVAntifa is an Antifascist collective that has operated in Corvallis, Oregon since 2018. We began in response to increasing local and regional far right activity, and neo-Nazi attacks on minority and left-wing groups. We aim to serve Corvallis and the larger Willamette Valley by providing accurate intelligence about fascist and far-right groups, disrupting their activity, and providing community defense. CVA joined the Torch Antifa Network in 2020. Torch is the largest network of Antifascist collectives in the country. He is affiliated with the Proud Boys, Oregon Patriots Militia, and O.D.I.N. The latter two are self-created groups that have little organizational presence outside of Ben and his former roommate Kyle Bonham (see below). Ben has a documented history of violence and preying on children. He once petitioned the state of Oregon to allow him to have a romantic relationship with a minor. He is currently awaiting trial after attempting to shoot someone during an altercation. He currently lives in Albany and works at the Albany 76 gas station. Read our piece about Ben at https:// bit.ly/3pR9XTZ Jeremy Roberts Jeremy Wayne Roberts is a white supremacist from Salem and is currently living in Albany. Roberts spent most of his teenage years and young adulthood in state prison, where he became affiliated with neo-Nazi prison gangs. During his incarceration, he developed a friendship with David Pederson, who would later go on a murder spree down the west coast to "kill Jews" after his release. After Roberts was released from prison, he would rack up multiple domestic abuse charges. During the George Floyd uprising in 2020, Jeremy became deeply involved in the militant fascist resistance to racial justice protests across the PNW, and rolled with the local Proud Boys (although was never officially a member) and the now defunct CopsNW. Jeremy Roberts was recently seen at a Corvallis city council meeting where he was among those protesting against the resolution for the city to support Palestine. Jeremy currently lives in Albany with his girlfriend and works at JZ Trucking Company David Woods and Andrew Oswalt David Woods and Andrew Oswalt are two infamous neo-Nazi organizers and former Corvallis residents. The pair were both members of the group "Oregon Aryans" that organized throughout the Willamette Valley. Both attended numerous neo-Nazi demonstrations and participated in racist stickering campaigns. They worked with infamous Eugene neo-Nazi Jimmy Marr to disrupt the 2017 Corvallis Solidarity Fair with anti-Semitic propaganda. Andrew Oswalt was arrested for placing racist stickers on liberal activists’ vehicles, and lost his position in the ASOSU. David Woods was implicated in this stickering as well as multiple assaults, but never faced charges based on his actions, leading many to speculate about the possibility if him being a federal informant. The pair both left Corvallis following a brawl that left their leader Jimmy Marr in a coma. He frequently participates in Baker's harebrained schemes and has joined him in harassing BLM and other leftist events. Kyle is a domestic abuser and a stalker who has a documented history of violating restraining orders and strangling his romantic partners. We believe he is currently houseless. Read our piece about Kyle at cvantifa.noblogs.org/kyle. Bart Degeneffe Bartholomew Degeneffe is a white nationalist based in Corvallis. CVAntifa exposed him back in 2019 when he attempted to infiltrate and "redpill" members of the local conservative community. In messages he sent to a sock account, he revealed himself to be a fan of Adolph Hitler and Nazi websites. He is also close friends with notorious Nazi organizer Andrew Oswalt (see previous). Read our piece about Bart at https://bit.ly/3mnVxlK Paul Bonnen Paul Bonnen is a neo-Nazi pedophile who has lived and organized around the Willamette Valley, but who often stays with his mother on the 1700 block of Menlo Ave. He is affiliated with the NSBM (National Socialist Black Metal) scene. He has played in the bands Xenocide and Immortal Pride. He has also helped run the labels Kulturkampf Productions and Vinland Elite Productions. Bonnen is a 2nd degree sex offender who was convicted of raping a minor after getting them drunk. Proud Boys The Proud Boys are a militant far-right group with many white nationalist and neo-Nazi mem- bers. The Proud Boys have been extremely active in Oregon since 2015. They can frequently be found engaging in violence at rallies in Salem and Portland. Three Percent The 3% is the largest right-wing militia in the US. It is fractured into numerous sects, and many members do not engage in political activity. Militia members have shown up armed to many protests across the state. Northwest Nationalist Network 3N is a coalition of neo-Nazi active clubs from across the PNW. They have come together to disrupt LBGTQ events across the region. They frequently engage in physical violence and have ties to the Hammerskins and Nazi prison gangs.

Fascist Symbols: Mjolnir Algiz Odal Wolfsangel Sonnenrad SS Bolts Totenkopf SS Shields 14/88 Fasces Nazi Cascadia (blue, white, green) Burzum (nazi band) Goyim Defense League Celtic Cross Businesses to avoid: Tick Licker Firearms 1880 SW Third St. Tick Licker firearms is a gun shop with locations in Salem and Corvallis. They have a cozy relationship with far right groups in Salem and sell right wing paraphernalia. On May 1st 2021 they co-sponsored a rally with the Proud Boys and other fascist groups. Rally attendees beat and maced a passerby without provocation. ProPrint 563 NW Monroe Ave. ProPrint is a printshop and graphic design studio located on Monroe. Many will know it as the shop with the shitty 90s fonts covering the windows. It is operated by Carter “Skip” Hamilton. Carter has a history of producing and displaying right-wing conspiracy propaganda on the window. He claims to be a member of the Oathkeepers Militia, which participated in the J6 capitol riot. Philomath Boulevard Safeway The Philomath Boulevard Safeway location has concerning history of employing open neo-Nazis. In the past, they have employed Bart Degeneffe, Benjamin Baker, and Daniel Devlin Dorson. Dorson is a neo-Nazi skinhead and member of European Kindred. He is currently serving a prison sentence for being a part of a gang beating of a Black man in Olympia, WA. Dorson continued to work at the Safeway after having been arrested for the aforementioned crime. The Safeway has refused to fire any of the aforementioned Nazis after being repeatedly alerted to their presence in the store. CVAntifa Statement on Palestine: As the fascist Israeli state continues its genocide on the people of Palestine, it is vital as Antifascists to reaffirm a staunch stance of Anti-Zionism and solidarity with oppressed and occupied people across the planet. We follow the long line of Anti-Zionist Antifascists who precede us. In 1936, the Great Palestinian Revolt began, spurred on by a series of revenge assassinations. It turned into a nationwide Arab general strike and refusal to pay taxes, organized from the bottom up by local workers’ committees and later coordinated by political leaders. Armed rebellion sprung up across Palestine and a series of sabotages and bombings targeted the Mosul-Haifa oil pipeline constructed by the Iraq Petroleum company, a conglomerate of Western European banks and petroleum giants. During this revolt, Britain was unable to suppress the strike with the troops currently in Palestine and thus sent soldiers from across the country. Torture was common and Palestinian civilians were held without trial in cramped prison camps without sanitation, a tactic used in the West bank and all of Gaza to this day. In response, several proposals were written up by the British government in an attempt to end the revolt. The White Paper of 1939 was an early so-called "Two state solution," which would have guaranteed an independent Palestine and Israel. In response, Irgun and other Zionist paramilitary groups immediately carried out a series of attacks against Arab civilians and British property. The revolt overall failed at its objectives and the greatly increased military and repressive strength of the Israeli state would set the stage for the next 7 decades of occupation. The so-called First Intifada kicked off in 1987 and lasted a sustained 6 years of riots, boycotts, strikes, and direct confrontation with the Israeli military. The IDF deployed live ammunition in response to stones and Molotov cocktails, killing an estimated 1,600 Palestinians from 1987 to 1993. The revolt was organized by neighborhood councils and federated across Palestine by the Unified National Leadership of the Uprising, which arose organically during the revolt. Israel's reputation was greatly damaged by their response to the uprising, despite its overt similarity to the past 4 decades of occupation. The result of the Intifada was underwhelming, with the biggest change being the Oslo II accords, which gave Palestinians land in the West bank not considered "important" by Israel. This created the non-contiguous patchwork of Palestinian land in the West bank which has gradually been eroded. Directly after the uprising, Baruch Goldstein, an ultra-right Zionist Israeli and member of the Kach movement, carried out a mass shooting at a mosque in the West Bank, killing dozens and wounding more than a hundred Palestinians. Anarchists Against the Wall was formed in 2003 during the second intifada when an IDF soldier shot an IDF veteran demonstrating alongisde Anarchists against the construction of the Gaza Strip wall. AATW participated in direct actions to destroy the border fence and fought as co-conspirators and comrades with Palestinians. Although their members have been maimed by tear gas canisters, rubber-coated steel bullets, and IDF brutality, the movement continued until around 2020 when the pandemic greatly reorganized the political landscape of Israel. In Palestine, there has been the recent emergence of explicitly Anarchist resistance to the state of Israel in the West Bank under the banner of Fauda, who have been agitating, fighting, and spreading practical and theoretical knowledge about combating the Israeli state. Here in the so-called US, we are not free of Zionist violence. The Jewish Defense League, a far-right Zionist and anti-Arab organization was formed in 1968, conducted a bombing campaign against Arabs and Soviet citizens as well as Arab and soviet cultural centers in the US, and demonstrated against the Black Panthers. This historical and living atrocity must be stopped. We can thank decades of struggle against the Israeli state and its Zionism for the current unprecedented solidarity with the Palestinian people here in the so-called United States and around the world. __________________________ White Nationalism 3.0: A National & Regional Threat Since the release of our previous issue, we have seen the unfortunate explosion in popularity of Active Clubs, both locally and nationally. Active Clubs, and the greater "3.0" white nationalism movement they operate within, now dominate fascist street politics and exist on an international scale. In this section we will be examining Active Clubs and the threat they pose and highlighting the clubs that are local to the PNW. Active Clubs are neo-Nazi fitness and fight clubs that are independently run yet often tightly networked regionally, nationally, and internationally. These hate groups aim to shape their members into peak physical performance to prepare them to enact violence against racial minorities and LGBTQ people. The Active Club (or the less popular Nationalist Club) model was introduced by Robert Rundo, founder of the SoCal fascist MMA crew the Rise Above Movement (RAM). After RAM fell apart due to the charges Rundo and other leaders received following Unite the Right and the violent rallies in Berkley, Rundo drafted up the Active Club model to carry out the ideological goals of RAM while also shielding him and other movement leaders from legal consequences. Rundo and his cronies refer to Active Clubs and the greater white nationalist culture it has developed as "3.0" white nationalism, with the original neo-Nazi bonehead (racist skinhead) culture being "1.0" white nationalism, and with the alt-right movement of the 2010s being "2.0" white nationalism. "3.0" aims to succeed where the alt-right failed, and to also entice old-school boneheads back into white supremacist organizing. While Active/Nationalist Clubs are arguably the main players in the "3.0" movement, other white nationalist organizations like NSC131, Patriot Front, Blood Tribe, Clockwork Crew, and White Lives Matter fall under the "3.0" umbrella. Most Active Clubs have heavy overlap in membership with all three orgs. Active Clubs engage in what they colloquially refer to as "activisms." These acts range from stickering, graffiti tagging, banner drops and flag waves, spreading propaganda at far-right rallies, and disrupting LGBTQ pride events. "Activisms" are recorded and edited into stylized propaganda videos that are shared online in attempts to recruit disaffected white men into the movement. Similarly, crew sparring and workout sessions are recorded and edited into propaganda. While these videos are often poorly edited and extremely silly, we cannot underscore the threat that these groups pose. These white nationalists are active, training, networking, and recruiting at an alarming rate. The PNW is arguably one of the epicenters of the Active Club movement. The Northwest Nationalist Network (3N) was formed in early 2023, and represents the largest official network of "3.0" crews in the country. Current member crews are Evergreen Active Club (tri-cities Washington), Rainforest Active Club (Puget Sound/Olympic Peninsula), Vinland Rebels (national), Active Club Portland, and Big Sky Active Club (Montana). Former member crews include Rose City Nationalists, Puget Sound Active Club (rebranded to RAC), and White Lives Matter Montana. As a network, 3N has been active throughout the American west, attending rallies and physically disrupting pride events from Washington to Wyoming. Ourselves, Rose City Antifa, and Stumptown Research Collective have released multiple articles exposing 3N members, and we highly recommend checking out theirs and our websites to learn more about them. Other "3.0" crews that exist beyond the 3N are Southern Oregon Nationalists and Tracktown Active Club (Eugene). Furthermore, it is becoming increasingly obvious that many Active Clubs are also operating as criminal gangs. Just this August, Mack Lamoureux with Vice News released a video given to him by a former EAC member which revealed that he was tasked with trafficking steroids across state lines. Additionally, countless Active Club members are either current or former members of neo-Nazi bonehead gangs, such as the Hammerskins, Crew 38, Hakenkreuz skinheads, and the Berdoo skinheads, among others. Asatru Folk Assembly: A National & Regional Threat The Asatru Folk Assembly (AsFA) is a white-separatist Odinist spiritual organization operating in North America and internationally in Oceania, Europe, Argentina, and South Africa. The Assembly was founded and continues to be led by Stephen McNallen out of Northern California. According to the live membership counter on their official website, there are 846 AsFA members at the time of publishing. The group has been particularly active in recent years, and there are currently four churches, or Hofs, in the United States. Each Hof is composed of varying amounts of Kindreds, an official body within the church that consists of at least three households. The AsFA is currently the largest Neo-Völkisch organization in the world, a white supremacist spiritual movement in which white Europeans attempt to preserve what they claim to be a dying Germanic culture. It is important to distinguish the AsFA from non-racist Heathen spiritual movements; many Heathens themselves are anti-racist, and over 120 neo-pagan organizations have denounced the AsFA. Since the group’s foundation, McNallen and his followers have defended their obvious white supremacy with absurd claims of "religious freedom" and "cultural preservation." Despite this, it remains clear that the AsFA is ideologically aligned with white supremacy. The incorporation of such beliefs into their spiritual practices and cultural identity represents a deep commitment to the white supremacist movement and poses a threat to any community in which the group is active. The end goal of the AsFA is white separatism; this is evident in their land buying and development projects, their homeschooling programs exclusively for "Aryan" children, and locally, the incorporation of the Northwest Territorial Imperative flag into their symbolism and imagery. The Asatru Folk Assembly attempts to portray themselves as a family-friendly organization where (white) people can find a welcoming and safe community. Despite how harmless they try to appear, it is undeniable that members of violent, neo-Nazi organizations make up a large percentage of their membership. Several Antifascist researchers across the country including ourselves have documented this, with Asatru members - often those in leadership roles - being connected to Active Clubs, Identity Evropa, WLM, Operation Werewolf, Patriot Front, the Rise Above Movement, Blood Tribe, Vinland Rebels, the Traditionalist Workers Party, the Klu Klux Klan, and even terror cells like Aryan Compartmented Elements and Atomwaffen Division. Even more concerning is the deep overlap between the AsFA and numerous criminal neo-Nazi bonehead gangs. Several AsFA members and leaders have been revealed to be members of the Hammerskins, Peckerwoods, American Guard, Vinlanders Social Club, Golden State Skinheads, Sacto Skins, and Blood & Honour. This is by no accident either. One of the longest standing services the AsFA offers is "Prison Ministry," wherein they connect with white supremacists who are incarcerated and offer them personal and monetary support, and give them a community to come to upon release. The vast majority of those who receive prison support are serving time for charges relating to their genocidal politics. Beyond AsFA's inherent white supremacy, they are extremely concerning because they serve as a conduit for violent neo-Nazi organizing and as a vector for people - particularly young, socially isolated white men - to get funneled into militant fascist groups. In other words, the AsFA provides the foundation needed for such groups to recruit new members. The increasing growth and influence of Asatru Folk Assembly, particularly in the Pacific Northwest, is cause for great concern, as it ultimately strengthens the militant white nationalist movement by providing avenues for networking and collaboration between various groups. __________________________ A History of Local Fascism: Richard Masker Last year’s edition of this zine featured a column discussing the history of organized white supremacy in Corvallis. This column was part of an effort to expose and confront the history of racism present in our city that is often glossed over by an establishment that aims to paint Corvallis a quaint liberal paradise. We are continuing this history with a discussion of Richard Masker, a neo-Nazi organizer who was active in our city in the early 1980s. We think that by understanding the history of fascism, we are better able to counter it as it evolves. Many of the tactics employed by Masker are similar to ones later employed by Alt-Right members of the Cascadian Coffee Company / Oregon Aryans locally in 2016-18. We will likely cover this organizing in future editions of this zine. During and after his time in Corvallis, Masker was a close associate of Tom Metzger, the leader of White Aryan Resistance, a violent neo-Nazi bonehead (racist skinhead) organization responsible for the 1988 murder of Mulugeta Seraw in Portland. The murder, Metzger’s subsequent trial, and the history of Portland’s anti-racist movement are covered in the podcast and book “It Did Happen Here”, which we highly recommend as a source on the history of regional fascism and Antifascism. Richard Masker became known to the Corvallis community in 1983 after sending threatening antisemitic cards to Corvallis’s Jewish residents on Hitler’s birthday. He would go on and to attempt to display Holocaust denial propaganda at the public library and broadcasted Tom Metzger’s public access show "Race and Reason", making Corvallis one of the first two cities to show the racist program. During these activities he attempted to justify his actions in the press using “free speech” arguments that would be immediately familiar to anyone who witnessed the rise of the Alt-Right thirty years later. After his racist activities became known, Masker received pressure from the Corvallis community, which resulted in him losing his job, his wife and children leaving him, and him being forced from the city. After Masker lost his job, his wife divorced him, and he bounced around the country for some time before temporarily settling in Utah and marrying another Nazi named Deon. In Utah, he was paid to lecture local police, which was uncovered in documents obtained by ARA-LA. The Maskers were chased out of their home there when locals vandalized their house marking them as known nazis. After being forced out of a town once more, him and Deon moved to Northern Idaho, settling near the Aryan Nations compound where he acted as a mouthpiece for the group in local press. During his time here he became associated with members of The Order, a neo-Nazi terrorist group responsible for attempted bombings, robberies, and the murder of Alan Berg. Masker once more got fired from his job and his vehicle was smashed by Idaho anti-racists. He struggled to survive off of a meager income selling racist t-shirts through the mail. Unlike many of his fellow Aryan Nations fascists, Masker never rose to any degree of national status. He spent the remaining years of his life miserable and in continual disputes with the government over his inability to pay taxes. His golden years were filled with incoherent screeds to newspaper editors and repeated failures to host workshops at North Idaho College. Masker died in 2009. No obituary was published for him. His sad life is evidence that, when consistently opposed and deplatformed, fascists (more often than not) fail to gain influence or power. Masker could have been another Metzger, Luther-Pierce, or Butler, but the efforts of anti-racists turned his life into a historical footnote. Anatomy Of A Good Tip We receive a lot of tips, and often struggle to get valuable information from them. Good Tip: Last night at about 10pm, I saw two men wearing Proud Boys shirts at the Peacock. One of them was approximately 5’5” with slicked black hair and the other was about 6’ tall, bald, and has a sleeve tattoo on his left arm.
